Your Weekly “To Do’s”
Support Ukraine by calling your Members of Congress
Members of Congress must loudly condemn President Trump and V.P. Vance’s behavior at the recent White House meeting with President Zelenskyy. They must call out Trump’s agenda of aligning himself with Putin.
If your MOC is a Republican - Republican members of Congress must publicly rebuke the President and Vice President for their behavior and agenda in the meeting with President Zelenskyy.
If your MOC is a Democrat - Tell them to call on the Democratic Caucus to host a multi-speaker press conference immediately to ensure strong media attention is given to the democratic response to the Trump/Vance attack on President Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. Note: Check first via an internet search to see if your rep has already issued a personal statement and, if so, express your thanks.
Call your representative now and demand they vote NO on cutting life-saving programs that our communities depend on to make ends meet.
Help block Republicans from disenfranchising millions of voters with their ‘SAVE ACT.’: As early as next week, the House could vote on H.R. 22 (the SAVE Act) -- one of the biggest threats to voting rights we’ve seen in a generation! The bill requires voters to show proof of citizenship documents that match their current legal name -- something tens of millions of Americans simply don’t have. It would cause massive challenges for married women, and trans and nonbinary people who have changed their names. It would also disproportionately impact people of color.
More info (including key Members of Congress needed to stop the bill) can be found here.
But if you’re ready to take action now, you can use this link to email your representative.
Upcoming Virtual Calls

Group Updates
Update on use of List-Serve: As you may know, our group has a list-serve that some of you may use to stay in the loop on announcements, as well as to connect with other group members. Given the recent growth in size of our group and the associated increase in list-serve activity, it’s become a challenge to effectively facilitate communications among members there. We will therefore be shifting to using the list-serve for announcement purposes only, for the time being. We are working on setting up a separate communication tool for our announcements, at which time, we will invite those who wish to use the list-serve to participate in conversations with other members, to do so. For now, please be aware that we will only be approving messages that are calls to action and/or other relevant announcements.

Celebrations and Victories
Thank you to our very own North Country Light Brigade showing up at Centennial Circle in Glens Falls on Feb.22nd, showing how to save our democracy! Picture from Indivisible ADK/Saratoga Facebook page.
Thank you to all who attended the “Where In The World Is Elise Stefanik” rally! We held a rally on Feb 23rd to protest Rep. Stefanik’s refusal to hold town halls “during this transition time” (per her DC office staff, because "her schedule is in flux"). Thirty-seven people signed up for the rally in Mobilize, but almost SEVENTY attended. We were delighted by the turnout, especially because this was considered a “rapid action” event, planned and executed in less than a week. Picture from Facebook Indivisible ADK/Saratoga Facebook page.
Thank you to all who rallied on short notice to local cities, including Saratoga Springs and Salem, to support Ukraine and defend Democracy following the meeting at the White House with President Zelenskyy. Pictured below is the gathering in Salem (photo submitted by a member of Indivisible ADK/Saratoga), followed by a picture of the gathering in Saratoga Springs (Photo from Indivisible ADK/Saratoga Bluesky).
Tips for Staying Resilient
The current social and political realities that we are currently navigating, can take its toll on our mental health and our stress levels. Here are a few tips to support you to take care of yourself, while staying informed and involved.
Set boundaries around when and how you consume the news. Try choosing 1-3 trusted sources to follow and gather your news from. Avoid constant scrolling and clicking on social media, and if you do gather your news on social media, try to identify a few sources as the primary ones that you trust and click on for more information. It can also help to carve out specific times in your day, in which you intend to consume the news, and then intentionally shifting your attention towards other activities outside of those hours.
Here are a couple of suggested sources but please feel free to disregard these suggestions and to find one’s that work for you:
The Weekly List by Amy Siskind: On a weekly basis, the List tracks specific news stories in list form.
Heather Cox Richardson: A political historian who uses facts and history to put the news in context.
Jessica Craven: Activist, organizer, climate hawk. Author of Chop Wood Carry Water Daily Actions. Political content creator. Here’s her most recent article to get you started!
Set your home and technology up in a way that supports the boundaries that you need. Turn off phone notifications after certain hours, set up “news-free zones” or “politics-free zones” in your house, to support that there are certain spaces that you can go to, to shift gears and relax.
Practice self-care activities. Do things that fill your cup! Spend time in nature, meditate, read, go for walks, exercise, eat nourishing foods, spend time with your pets. And do your best to make sure you get good sleep!
