Mission: The Indivisible ADK/Saratoga Social Media Team's mission is to strategically utilize online platforms to inform, engage, and mobilize individuals in support of the organization's goals.
Vision: We strive to create a dynamic and inclusive online community that empowers members to advocate for democracy and social justice.
Our Guiding Principles:
Social Media Team as Distribution Arm: The Social Media team serves as the primary distribution arm for the Media/Communication team. Content for social media will often originate from the Media team.
Adapt Content for Platform: While utilizing content from the Media team, Social Media volunteers should adapt the messaging and format to best suit each specific platform (Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky), keeping in mind character limits, visual preferences, and audience engagement strategies.
Amplify Key Actions: Focus on promoting events and calls to action.
Agile Response to Rapid Actions: Be prepared to quickly disseminate information and calls to action for urgent, time-sensitive events that may arise outside the regular newsletter schedule.
Consistent Presence: Maintain a regular posting schedule across all platforms.
Cross-Promotion: Encourage engagement and sharing across platforms.
Volunteer Guidelines:
Keep it Simple: Focus on the main message and the desired action.
Consistency is Key: Try to post at the suggested times or sometime during that part of the day.
Don't Be Afraid to Share: Even a simple share of existing content helps!
Questions Welcome: If you're unsure about something, ask the designated social media coordinator.
Group/chat/channel Rules & Guidelines
Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech and Discrimination: Any form of hate speech, discrimination, or harassment will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, derogatory comments or slurs targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, age, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or immigration status. This also includes the promotion of hateful ideologies or symbols.
Be Kind & Respectful: This is a welcoming community. Healthy debate is encouraged, but personal attacks, and insults will not be tolerated. If a post creates hostility or is reported as offensive, it will be removed.
No Bullying, Harassment, or Trolling: Bullying, harassment, or degrading comments will not be tolerated. Trolling—posting deliberately offensive or provocative messages—is also prohibited.
Respect Privacy & Protect Identities: What’s shared in the group stays in the group. Do not share members' names, posts, or photos outside the group. If posting images, blur or pixelate identifying features to protect privacy.
Stay on Topic & Use Admins for Disputes: Posts should align with the group’s purpose. Complaints about members should be directed to admins rather than posted publicly. Irrelevant or disruptive posts will be removed.
No Promotions, Fundraisers, or Spam: Self-promotion, external group links, and donation requests (including GoFundMe) are not allowed. Posts without cited, reliable sources will also be removed.
