Rapid Response Actions Page Week of March 9th-March 16th

Welcome to our “Rapid Response Actions” page! This is where you will find actions that were organized after the time that our last newsletter went out to you. We will be regularly updating this page with any actions that we hear of, which require a rapid response. If you do not see any actions listed here beyond those that were listed in the last newsletter, that means that we have not yet added any rapid response actions to this page. If you hear of an action that should be here and you do not see it, please let us know by sending us an email at  newsltr.indivisibleadksaratoga@gmail.com with the subject line, “Rapid Response Action”. Please note, Rapid Response Actions are only actions that are time-sensitive, in that they need to be organized and/or carried out prior to the next scheduled newsletter. Thank you for all the work you are doing and for all of your participation!

Rapid Actions

  • Call Senators Gillibrand and Schumer NOW: Tell Senate Democrats to Hold the Line Against the Extreme MAGA Continuing Resolution. MAKE CALLS TONIGHT (3/13) and/or first thing on 3/14.

  • CALL SENATOR SCHUMER - THIS IS YOUR SCRIPT (based on breaking news at 6:32pm on 3/13/25):

Hi, my name is ___________ and I am calling from Zip Code. I am deeply disappointed that you have chosen to support the CR bill. This is caving to the Republican party. We expect more from our Senator and the minority leader. We needed you to lead for this moment.

  • Albany Office: 518-431-4070

  • Syracuse Office: 315-423-5471

  • Washington D.C. Office: 202-224-6542

  • Please note that some have reported that Senator Schumer’s phones do not have a voicemail option overnight.  Some have reported being able to leave a voicemail at his Albany office.  Try Albany first. If his voicemail is full or does not allow you to leave a message, try Syracuse. His DC office doesn’t have voicemail. If you cannot get through tonight (3/13), please make sure to call first thing tomorrow (3/14).

  • CALL SENATOR GILLIBRAND (Senator Gillibrand is on the list of senators who are most likely to cave to Trump/Musk demands) - THIS IS YOUR SCRIPT:

Hi, my name is ________________ and I am calling from Zip Code. I am calling to DEMAND you Hold the Line! Unless Republicans agree to a clean, short-term CR, Democrats must ALL Vote NO - on cloture AND the spending bill. Your constituents know that voting YES on cloture but then voting NO on the Continuing Resolution means you caved - you actually cast your vote to give a blank check to Musk.

  • Washington D.C. Office: 202-224-4451

  • Albany Office: 518-431-0120

  • Veterans March: Please note that this action was listed in our latest weekly newsletter, but at the time, we did not have a whole lot of specific information to offer.  We are adding the most current information that we have gathered here, to make sure you have as much information as possible.  The title above now links to an article that discusses the inception of this March. The March is being organized by the 14thNow Movement and is being held in Washington DC and at every State capitol on March 14th, Noon. March at the State Capitol in Albany to support our Veterans, who make up 30% of the federal workforce currently being cut by this administration, and whose programs and services are at risk or already being eliminated.  Again, we are not organizing this, but we will post updates here with any information that may evolve around our group’s plans to attend the March. Stand with our Veterans!

  • Card Campaign for Democracy:  Today, the Card Campaign joins The Ides of Trump postcard campaign orchestrated by pro-democracy groups nationwide.  The goal is to bury the White House in a tsunami of postcards, all mailed on Saturday, March 15th, protesting against Donald Trump and his rape of our democracy and country.  The Card Campaign has a postcard on the website ready for you to print, stamp, and mail on Saturday, March 15. It's up to you whether you send one card or one hundred. Let’s all make good trouble and ROAR!

  • March to Stop the Cuts: Please note, this is in New York City. While the original newsletter indicated that there would possibly be a similar rally held locally, one has not been organized at this time.

  • Info about the New York City rally is as follows: Join 1199 SEIU, Invest in Our New York, Indivisible OneNYS, New York State Nurses Association, and more leading organizations on Saturday, March 15th, from 11AM-2PM at Foley Square in NYC to demand no cuts to working people to fund tax breaks for billionaires and corporations!

  • We also had a group member share that there is a March to Stop the Cuts Rally planned in Plattsburgh. This is the link to the facebook events page with information about that Plattsburgh rally.  According to the information on that event page, it is scheduled to be held on March 15th from 12PM - 2PM at Clinton County Government Centre, 137 Margaret Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. We are not organizing this, so we encourage you to get your most current information directly from that source/the organizers, The Adirondack Voters for Change.

  • Musk or Us: Demand Rep. Paul Tonko Fight Back!: Rep. Paul Tonko is hosting a town hall in Schenectady NY, on March 17th from 6PM - 7:30PM, to discuss how Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their GOP allies' efforts to slash the essential services will impact you and your family. We're calling on Indivisibles to turn out and support Rep. Tonko for continuing to fight back against the Trump-Musk coup and extremist budget cuts. Pre-registration is required for all attendees to enter the venue. Spaces are limited, so please reserve your spot today.(Please note that the Town Hall that was being planned for Queensbury has been cancelled.  While we are working to try to organize a town hall closer to home, for now, we encouraged attending this one being held in Schenectady).
